As many gaming fans will likely recall, Ubisoft had to disable the seamless multiplayer of Watch Dogs 2 one day before the hacker-themed game’s official release due to the feature being broken. Obviously, a lot of players were disappointed by the feature being absent at launch, which prompted the developer to issue a statement on the matter that promised fans should expect a fix ‘soon.’
Now, Ubisoft has released the details regarding the next patch for Watch Dogs 2, which is currently in the works. However, while the forthcoming Update 1.04 will be providing some needed post-launch bug fixes for the game, the developer revealed it won’t be addressing any of the issues related to the title’s current multiplayer woes.
“Overnight, we are pushing Title Update 1.04 to the live environment to fix a few known issues that have been identified since launch. This patch does not include a fix to the seamless online issue that we are currently focusing on; more info will be available on that soon.”
Although the impending patch for Watch Dogs 2 will tackle frustrating performance problems such as a bug low frame rates occurring on PlayStation 4 Pro, the fact that the game’s seamless multiplayer experience remains broken a few days after launch will more than likely continue to discourage fans. Nevertheless, for those interested in reading what the relatively minor patch has to offer, the full notes can be found in full below.
For those wondering why all of Watch Dogs 2‘s Update 1.04 are for the game’s console versions, it must be noted that the PC version won’t release until November 29. All things considered, though, one can only hope the remainder of the title’s problems will be ironed out as quickly as possible across all platforms, and that its PC iteration won’t introduce any new game-breaking bugs. So, with any luck, if Ubisoft works diligently and thoroughly enough, fans could potentially be playing Watch Dogs 2‘s multiplayer as early as this weekend.
Watch Dogs 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while its PC version is slated for release on November 29, 2016.
